Mister Candyman was the beginning of Millennium Magic Plotts. He was the best coondog I have followed at night ever. Night in and night out, he performed at such a high level and with such consistency it was almost unreal. He was a fine, fine coondog and is the reason why I began hunting plotts and eventually breeding them because I wanted to try to replicate him over and over, and over again. Off course it is easy to ascertain that he is Gravedigger's daddy and he passed on his good looks and some of his ability. It would be unbecoming to try to compare Digger to his daddy because there is no comparison. The only thing I can say is that Digger is a faster strike dog than his daddy. Otherwise, he pales in comparison to Mr. Candyman.

The "Man" can easily be described by any big name dog's stud ad except it would all be true! He was the proverbial once in a lifetime coondog. He changed my perception of the plott breed and of what a top-notch coondog really was. Although he started treeing early, he was not a coondog from the get go as many claim. He was no flash in the pan, wonderkind, savant coondog at 6 months old when he started treeing. He was though a super prospect that over time hunting and maturing became what he was bred for and to do. Man hit snags along the way from a green pup to mature coondog, and it took a couple of seasons to finish him.

By the time I was asked to handle him in some hunts, he was just two years old and I ran through the casts with him like a knife through butter. I made him Nite Champion pretty easily and I don't remember losing a UKC cast with him. He won because he was the most honest coondog in the cast everytime, which means he didn't always get first strikes, but he always, I mean always had first trees with coons in them. I don't care if he was treed up a twig. If I treed him and was walking into a tiny, leafless tree I knew I was getting plussed up. Many times on the way in the other cast members would say, "That plott has got to be slick! He's treed on a twig over there and them walker dogs are all 20 yards right handed treed with the coon." Well we'd plus him up, and most usually "circle up" the walkers. By the end of the night I always heard two things, that is the best plott dog I have ever seen or hunted with, and I can't believe that dog is that good and that damn accurate!

I have no doubt in my mind that if the Man hadn't gotten killed while tuning him up for Autumn Oaks when he was just three years old, that he and I would have made a huge impact on the coonhunting world. We would have been on the covers of the magazines, and would have been contending for winning a World Hunt, and would have challenged Shorty's record at Plott Days of winning it three times! He also would have changed the plott breed for the better because he would have been bred a lot, and had an opportunity to spread his great genes and abilities throughout many plott lines and throughout the whole breed itself. He was a game changer!

I can guarantee you that he was a Hall of Fame (HOF) dog, and his calibur of performance wouldn't be matched by any living plott today, or even in his time! Although, I know that he won't be inducted to the HOF because me and him were little unknowns in the breed before Gravedigger opened everyone's eyes to Millennium Magic Plotts. And, then there is the fact that he was only three when he was killed and he didn't have a chance to shine at Plott Days, as he never attended, nor at the Majors because from the point of entering his first hunt to his death was a short few month span.

However, he was all coondog from two years old til his untimely death. If you have followed our dogs and history through the old websites I built then you will know that my dad quit hunting, after hunting his whole life, after Candyman's death and only started back up after I had Digger and Deacon treeing coons at six and five months old respectively. You will also know that we only bred a couple females to Candyman and we had some real nice young dogs out of him lost/stolen, and killed. Granted with a few culls included we only ended up with three dogs out of Candyman that made coondogs and lived: Gravedigger, Lil Mystique, and Queen.

Gravedigger has made his own mark in competition and in reproduction. Misty made hers in reproduction and being both a good coondog and a good bear dog. Queen never made a mark so to say as she was only bred once to Emery's GrNtCh Rock dog, and only one pup survived and she ended up be a crazy, cull. But Queen too was at least decent coon and bear dog.

At our kennels the Candyman is an immortal dog and the prototype dog that we are trying to breed for and reproduce through our tight line/inbreeding program. We strive for the balanced, get struck quick, drive a track, locate, get treed quick and stay all night long dog! Or you might say we are looking for another Candyman.

Digger is a nice coondog who trees coons and has an excellent pedigree. He is an honest, but quick strike dog; top notch track dog in all departments--drifting, speed and direction; he is a classy, hard, pressure-proof tree dog, and he has more intelligence than most dogs out there today! He has won in not only UKC, but in PKC as well. He has also won all over the country north and south! Also, due to playing professional baseball overseas, and finishing up my Bachelor's Degree in Business Adminstration, Digger was never campaigned hard during his prime years, or given the chance to compete like he would have if he would have had someone pushing him hard. Most of his winning was early on and then much later in his life with limited exposure.

He is the second best dog that I've kenneled here besides his daddy, Mister Candyman; and I believe he is one of the top plotts in the country today, and I am proud to have bred, raised and trained the ol' dog! He does not walk on water, or tree every coon he should. But, he is pretty consistent about how he goes about his business; and it's business when he hits the woods. His real worth is now in the breeding pen and his reproduction of coon treeing Plotts!

Digger is putting the "brakes" in his pups! And, this is what the breed needs more of in my opinion, as I've bought, raise and trained many different lines of plotts before I started breeding my own, and it was because most of them were lacking the tree power that I culled over 95% of what we bought! Without the "brakes" on a plott dog you don't have much to work with, if you are a coonhunter.

Digger does not have 100 pups on the ground at this time. If he did he would most likely be the #1 Current Reproducer! There are some pups out of him who have won money in PKC, and pups who are winning in UKC as well. Then there are the dogs who made solid "cooners" that were never taken to town.

Dogs such as Mr. Ray Southerland's female, Star, who only hunts at his local Plott Section and wins most casts, but isn't UKC sanction; then there is Mr. Rex Teaney's female, Fern, in Illinois that he says is a solid dog. By the way, he owned GrNtCh Big Branch Walker before selling him; then there's Mr. Ed Delaney's Gravediggers' Image (Marble) in Michigan, and other coon treeing young dogs that didn't live long enough to make a name for themselves. Just ask Wesley in Alabama about his super young Digger dog that got killed.

That is just the breaks of the game and we have no control over what pups or dogs do when they leave our kennels. We are happy to get them into coonhunters' hands and let them prove themselves or not; beit a Nite Hunt or for the hard to please pleasure hunter. We also don't mind getting our dogs into Big Game hunters' hands. Plotts are the premier dog in the Big Game world and we are satisfied that we have repeat hunters who want our dogs for their hunting needs as well.

With all that being said, Digger is still able to do live breedings and his sperm count is high and the quality is very good. We also have frozen semen available. We hope to get a few more pups out of him here shortly as he isn't getting any younger. If you think Digger can help your kennels or your breeding program, please don't hesitate to contact us!

Heyzuess, or Zuess, or Z is following in his daddy's and granddaddy's footsteps!  He is linebred off of GrNtCh Garrison's Brindle Ranger as his momma was direct off of him and Digger is linebred off of NtCh Mister Candyman, who is also off of Ranger.  I have only had limited personal hunting with Zuess, but he has shown that he possesses all the tools to be a coondog and a reproducer to boot.  He has a really good mouth and is a pretty classy treedog, and isn't hard on the eyes either.  Zuess has been trained, hunted and handled by a few different folks: Steve White, Tim Hickman, Darrell Hunt, Levi Ward, Lowell Lynn, Chase Royer, Brian Nuener, Randy Notten, Mike Bertrand, John & Jeremiah J. Johnson, Curt Ahring & David Ball.

We are proud of breeding Zuess and all the people involved in his short hunting & competing career!  He made a great showing at the 2010 UKC World Hunt Zones and just finished shy of making the finals by a spot or two.  He put on a nice show on Friday night, after being laid up for a couple weeks and not being hunted, against some stiff competition with the rest of the cast all being Grand Nite Champions. Levi Ward has added to his list of accomplishments and has put the finishing touches on Z's Nite Champion degree.  Levi has been hunting Z and putting some finishing touches on him this past winter.  He says Z is not a fast strike dog, but gets lonely with the meat most of the time!  Z's accuracy and independence, along with a strong mouth and good treeing style are his strong points.  Thanks Levi!

Chase and Zuess took the "Brindle Thunder!" and travelled around the country a bit in 2011 and their winning ways followed them.  Chase is a pretty fair handler and a very fine young man, & done a great job with this ol' brindle dog.

In 2012, Curt Ahring Granded him out & qualified him for the 2012 UKC World Hunt!  So as you can see Zuess is a very competitive dog and can win all over the country and it doesn't matter who is on the other end of the leash! Levi Ward and Heyzuess capture the 2013 National Grand Nite Champion of the Plott breed and NPHA High Scoring male at Autumn Oaks. Now heading into the 2014 competitive season, we will have Mr. David Ball of Berea, KY hunting and handling Zuess.  David is an up and coming handler and plans to get into the winners circle as much as possible!  We wish them all the luck that they need.

Lastly, Zuess now has begun his breeding career and we anxiously await to see if he can outperform his daddy in the breeding pen.  If so, watch out coondog world cause there's some Brindle Thunder! coming and they are gonna be in the winners' circle soon!

"Nitro isn't perfect.  He doesn't walk on water, but he's a very good strike dog that has a really good nose and will get through the country, if need be, and he will have a coon when he trees! Nitro is also throwing smart, fast starting pups with looks to boot." - Stephen Newby

Nitro is bred up to be a stud dog with all of his abilities, looks and strong family of coondogs backing him several generations.  These boys in Oklahoma have just started breeding him and they are getting good reports on a couple of his first litters, with the oldest just over a year old now.  Nitro is not owned by us, but he is a part of Team Brindle Thunder! and carries our blood very proudly.  Being out West, Nitro has not gotten the notoriety that he should and this is common place with many Plott dogs.  Not just being out West, but being overlooked and underutilized by many Plott breeders.

Nitro has proven himself in the competition world and is making a name for himself out West.  He has won in UKC, PKC, ACHA & is a contender in the MCF circuit as a result of all of his winning the past couple of years.  Nitro has and is being campaigned by a working man, not a professional handler or full time coonhunter.  He has won his fair share and has done it against some very good competition in Oklahoma.  The hunts in their backyard feature drawing of PKC SS & World Hunt finalists, UKC World Hunt finalists (Top 100),famous dogs and a whole host of top hunters and competitors on a regular basis.  Still yet, Stephen & Nitro continue to get in the winners' circle.

Please don't overlook Stephen and Nitro when it comes time to breed your good female.  Both are class acts and now a big part of our Team!  They both will treat you right and help out to get things done.  Stephen's partner, Carl Reed, is also a very nice and honest man.  Carl is known for packing good coondogs and Nitro is one of them.

Revenge is a very promising young dog and we have high hopes for him.  He is a product of very selective breeding and culling for over a decade!  Little Zuess or Little Z, as my dad calls him, is bred to be a future stud dog.  He already shows promise and has a big horn on him and may be louder than his daddy already - it's what we all call the "Ranger mouth" and Candyman had it as well.  It's a very loud, clear mouth.  Be on the lookout for this promising young pup as his future is bright and only time will tell.  So keep your eyes and ears peeled.
